Overview
The Huawei nova 16s launched globally in September 2026 as a camera-first mid-range phone, and opened for pre-order in the Philippines on 30 October 2026. Its 6.68-inch OLED display runs at 120Hz with a 5,500-nit peak, and the phone is built around a 7,000mAh battery with 100W SuperCharge Turbo in a slim 7.3mm, 199g body. Photography is the headline: a 50MP main camera pairs with a 50MP RYYB periscope telephoto offering 3.3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, plus a True-to-Colour multispectral sensor for accurate skin tones, while a 50MP front camera handles selfies. The Kirin 8020 chipset with 12GB of RAM keeps everyday use and gaming smooth, and the phone carries IP65 protection, NFC, an infrared blaster and stereo speakers. On the software side it runs EMUI 16, without Google Mobile Services, as with other recent Huawei phones. It is aimed at buyers who want flagship-style zoom photography and huge battery life in a mid-range body. No Pakistan launch or price has been announced; in the Philippines it costs PHP 34,999 for 12GB/256GB. Colours: Breathing Crystal, Sky White, Starry Black.
Gaming review
The Kirin 8020 with a 120Hz OLED handles popular titles at sensible settings, but this is a camera-first phone, not a gaming phone — there is no active cooling or gaming trigger hardware.
